The Challenge Hospital HR Departments Face Filling Health IT Positions

From my experience and talking with hundreds of other healthcare IT managers at hospitals, it’s really hard for a hospital HR department to get a quality group of candidates applying for their healthcare IT positions. As one health IT manager told me, “I don’t think our HR department knows where to look for healthcare IT professionals.”

This really isn’t a knock on hospital HR departments. When you look at the number of positions a hospital HR department has to fill in their organization, the IT positions are a small fraction of the work they do. Certainly this is becoming an important part of their job, but IT positions at hospitals will always be a small part of the hospital workforce.

As a completely Healthcare IT and EHR focused job board, we’ve been excited by the number of hospitals that have found Healthcare IT central and started utilizing us to attract qualified healthcare IT professionals to their hospital IT jobs.

Here are a few of the hospitals that have recently started posting their healthcare IT jobs with us:

We know how hard it is for hospital HR departments to attract qualified candidates. Plus, we know how painful it is for a Health IT manager to not be able to fill a position because they don’t have any qualified applicants. We’re happy to know that more hospitals are realizing this disconnect and using Healthcare IT Central to help solve that problem.
