Northwestern Medicine, located in Chicago, Illinois, seeks a dynamic leader for the position of Vice President, Chief Information Security Executive (VP/CISE).
This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive, innovative, multi-billion dollar academic health system that is experiencing tremendous growth through mergers and acquisitions. Northwestern Medicine includes seven hospitals in the region, more than 4,000 medical staff members, 30,000 employees, nearly 100 ambulatory sites, and over $400 million in leading-edge research through the Feinberg School of Medicine. Northwestern Medicine’s flagship medical center, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, is a top ten medical center in the United States.

The VP/CISE will report to the Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer (SVP/CIO) and will serve as an active member of the IT leadership team. Information security is a priority and a key area of focus for the health system’s Board and senior leadership team. As such, the VP/CISE is a critical hire and will have broad visibility and support across the health system. The VP/CISE will be tasked with building a robust information security program during a time of significant change and expansion at Northwestern Medicine. Continuing to develop the culture of information security and aligning the program with the mission and goals of the health system is imperative.

The ideal candidate for the VP/CISE position will be a polished executive with a proven track record of success leading information security in a large and complex organization. He/she will be viewed as a trusted advisor who is accountable, collaborative and team oriented. The VP/CISE position requires a strong, energetic leader with excellent communication skills that interacts effectively at all levels including the Board. The VP/CISE will have the ability to develop a plan and execute while navigating through a growing organization undergoing transformational change. A bachelor’s degree is required with a master’s degree strongly preferred.
